ABC altered evidence against Toyota on recalls? Not even the half of it

ABC tampers with evidence to dramatize Toyota unintended acceleration recall story.Purely seeking drama for ratings?

For days now questions about whether ABC altered evidence in an important report the TV station ran on the Toyota ‘unintended acceleration’ recalls, and seized upon by Congress, were ‘doctored’ have finally been answered. Turns out the automaker used fake footage to dramatize their story, as Gawker.com states was used to “make it look scarier.”(tip via KickingTires)

But faked drama isn’t even the real story today. Before Congress experts questioned the entire premise put forth by David W. Gilbert, an automotive technology professor at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and ABC’s key expert.

Chris Gerdes, director of Stanford University’s Center for Automotive Research, and a consulting firm, Exponent Inc., “said the professor had tampered with wiring to create electronic glitches that could never occur on the road.”

Likewise, the same tampering could achieve the same effects in many other cars, and was achieved using both the Subaru Outback and the Ford Fusion.

These are both good points, but Toyota has more problems than just stuck gas pedals. The company has been found by CONGRESS and the Federal Government to have hidden evidence to prevent safety measures from going into effect. This is equal to perjury and is punishable criminal offense and the company should take this very seriously. Instead, they are ignoring and trying to disprove a theory that is no longer the centerpiece in the government’s case against them. They are also must find a fix for this sudden acceleration rather than continue to rebutt the government and say “there is no problem”. The recall floor mat fix did absolutely nothing and was a complete waste of the consumers time.

The Feds will find more evidence of anything Toyota has covered up in the past 10 years and use it to its advantage to make this company falter completely. They cannot hide. The U.S. judicial system always gets what it wants and no one is immune to it. Just ask former President Bill Clinton. “The law is the law.”

With so much Disney in ABC you would have to expect something like this. I think we will find out that Rupert Murdoch is one of Disney’s robots. It’s not a conspiracy it is only a natural denouement!

Anyone else think these things are blown out of proportion? That San Diego man sounds like a complete dipstick to me. He can call a cell phone at 94 MPH, but can’t shut the car off? Shift into neutral? Even the police get there! Am I the only one who thinks this is BS? GM has so many more problems, it’s not even funny. Chrysler? Everyone knows they produced a boat load of lemons. And still do.
