Well, today is our lucky day.

The little lady – who has already made music history, is in the process of having a her name trademarked and was creatively honored and represented by her mother through blue nail polish – finally has a face.

Bey-Bey and hubby Jay-Z set up a Tumblr account dedicated to their beautiful baby girl, and it includes the greatest Kodak moments you could ever think of!

And surprisingly, the duo wasn’t stingy about their pics. The five pictures displayed show some solo shots of Blue, all wrapped up like a burrito in her baby blanket, along with a shot with mama and another photo with daddy.

And, of course, the classic picture of her teeny-tiny hand holding Beyoncé’s.

It’s so adorable, we almost can’t handle it.

The pro-abortion side of this weekend’s question is above.

But a few days ago I spoke to Craig Robbins, the director of Paul’s Pantry, and got the other side of the story.

Paul’s Pantry is a a ministry of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a lay Catholic organization. It is the largest free food pantry in Wisconsin, located in Green Bay. (Click all photos to enlarge.)

Craig told me Planned Parenthood of Green Bay called the pantry and asked it to send a truck to pick up food it had collected in a drive.  Craig told the lady calling the pantry was unable to send a truck. He gave PP no reason why but did not want to co-mingle with PP, nor did he want to give PP a photo op. He gave the caller names of other food pantries in the area.

“Within 20 minutes I was getting phone calls and emails calling us pieces of sh**,” Paul told me. “The calls that day came from the Milwaukee area, where Planned Parenthood is headquartered. We have caller ID.”

Craig said he did tell one of the callers they could simply drop off their donation, “which happens about 100 times a day – in that case we don’t know where the food comes from.”

But if an organization wants a receipt, Paul’s Pantry has a gift acceptance policy. “If the donation is going to hurt us, we don’t accept it,” explained Craig.

Craig said it never got to that point with Planned Parenthood, though. PP invented the rest of the story. “What was their purpose?” asked Paul. “If they really intended to feed the poor they should have just dropped the food off and left it at that. But was it for their own self-promotion?”

It appears so. Liberal website  Daily Kos was apparently alerted about the commotion and suggested its readers harass Paul’s Pantry, which they did. Then Breitbart’s Big Journalism wrote about the fracas, at which time “I got so many emails in support,” Craig said, “and contributions from all over the United States.”

Craig said he received counsel from a pastor at their cathedral, who said they did “absolutely the right thing.” The pastor explained Paul’s Pantry could no more knowingly take food from Planned Parenthood than it could the mafia or al-Qaeda. Planned Parenthood is a murderer of even greater infamy.

Craig said he based his decision on two guiding Bible verses:

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness. ~ II Corinthians 6:14

Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. ~ Ephesians 5:11

This was in large part due to the increasing volume of traffic, for which I am grateful! Interest in the Komen/Planned Parenthood battle was quite high, and then we moved right into the contraceptive mandate battle.

So last night, after doing quick a bit of prep work, “we”  moved the site to a dedicated server. (In actually, I have been an awestruck observer as Tim, Andy, and Gretchen took care of things.)

The team worked into the wee hours to try to smooth the transition as evenly and quickly as possible.

Today there are still a few internal kinks “we” are trying to work out.  So bear with me, and thanks for your patience and loyalty.

Many pro-lifers don’t trust Rick Santorum because of his 2004 support of Arlen Specter for U.S. Senate from Pennsylvania in the 2004 primary election.

On its face, it appears that Rick wandered off the reservation and put party before life by endorsing pro-abortion Specter against pro-life Pat Toomey.

Specter beat Toomey by only 1%, and many pro-lifers blame Santorum, a fact to some extent responsible for the 18-point shellacking Santorum got in the 2008 general election for his Senate re-election. (The magnitude of that defeat is often cited as the main reason why it has taken so long for Santorum to gain traction in the current Presidential primary race.)

When Santorum is asked about this, he steadfastly maintains that he came down in 2004 – and always has – on the side of life, and that his decision was no mistake. Can this be so? Let’s take a detailed look at what happened.

The political landscape in 2004 was very unusual: The GOP had a razor-thin 51-49 majority in the US Senate, which was needed to confirm any Bush (presumably pro-life) nominees to the Supreme Court, and Rehnquist was almost on his death bed. The political lay of the land in PA was such that Specter was well entrenched, and a shoo-in for re-election, provided, of course, that he got the GOP nomination.

But Toomey’s challenge was very serious, and potentially successful. Specter was desperate to keep his Senate seat and his Chairmanship of the powerful Judiciary Committee, assuming GOP could maintain its one-seat Senate majority. Simplistically, this seemed a prime opportunity to replace pro-abortion Specter with pro-life Toomey.

But as is often observed, the game of politics is chess – not checkers. President Bush’s strategists, seeing their Senate majority in peril – had determined that Toomey would likely lose the general election for Senate if he beat Specter in the primary. After all, Bush himself had failed to carry PA in 2000.

Apparently, then, Bush made a deal with Specter: If the Administration supported him in his primary challenge – and Santorum’s support was also essential to this package – Specter would behave himself and usher through his Judiciary Committee any SCOTUS nominees put up by President Bush. In light of the seriousness of Toomey’s challenge, Specter acquiesced.

So with Santorum’s help, Specter defeated Toomey in the primary by 1%, and was re-elected in the general election of 2004.

Thus, the GOP held its majority (actually gaining two seats) in the Senate. Specter got to remain Judiciary Committee chairman – after a very public pledge under pressure from nervous pro-life legislators – whereupon he proceeded to keep his promise, ushering through the confirmation of both Roberts and Alito to the Supreme Court in 2005 and 2006, respectively.

In short, history proved Santorum absolutely right. But the ending got even happier. As his next re-election campaign loomed, in 2009, Specter, facing an even more imposing primary challenge by Pat Toomey on the one hand, and being intensely wooed by Senate Democrats to get him to switch parties to regain their majority on the other, Specter jumped ship and became a Democrat.

Alas, poor Arlen Specter got knocked out by the popular Joe Sestak in the 2010 Senate Democratic primary, and Toomey, who easily won the GOP primary, got elected fairly handily in the GOP/TEA party sweep of 2010.

So now, thanks largely to the faithful and brilliant and courageous action of Rick Santorum, we have Roberts and Alito on the Supreme Court, and Toomey in the US Senate!

Isn’t that exactly what we have been looking for in our President, someone who has the intelligence and moral character to know what is the right thing to do, and the courage do it, even if its complexity makes him an easy target for cynics? “Conventional wisdom” holds that Conservatives should stop looking for “the perfect candidate.” I agree: I think we already found the perfect candidate in Rick Santorum.

If the organizers of the national prayer breakfast ever want a sitting president to attend their event again, they need to expect that any leader in his right mind is going to ask – no, demand – that he be allowed to see a copy of the keynote address that is traditionally given immediately before the president’s.

That’s how devastating was the speech given by a little known historical biographer named Eric Metaxas, whose clever wit and punchy humor barely disguised a series of heat-seeking missiles that were sent, intentionally or not, in the commander-in-chief’s direction….

But Metaxas’s most blistering attack, albeit sheathed carefully in good humor and rapier wit, was still to come, for next on his agenda was his careful but dogged determination to link previous attitudes among churchgoers toward slavery and Nazism with those of some present day churchgoers toward abortion. Surrounded by three of the most powerful supporters of the right to choose, Obama, Vice President Biden, and former speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi – two Catholics and a Protestant – Metaxas said:

“Wilberforce suddenly took the Bible seriously that all of us are created in the image of God, to care for the least of these.”

After carefully describing the inhumane treatment of both Jews and Africans by those claiming to be Christians, he asked then answered a question:

“You think you’re better than the Germans of that era? You’re not,” adding: “Whom do we say is not fully human today?”

Whereas before at least churches were exempted from providing insurance coverage for contraception, abortifacients, and sterilization, now even church insurance policies will have to cover them. As RH Reality states, “Under this plan, every insurance company will be obligated to provide contraceptive coverage.”
