To Lawrence ,

well it looks battery have an edge over H2 and fuel cell ; and it seems (from a non expert point of view) cheaper to developp a plug-in network rather than an H2 infrastructure ..am I wrong ?

Couldn't agree more about Chu. His unilateral aversion to hydrogen, specifically in transportation applications (what he tried to zero for 2010), must be motivated by BP and other big oil. I believe big oil is currently seeing this technology as a threat. After doing a lot of work in hydrogen, BP abandoned their excellent program. Having supported their hydrogen initiative, they now know it works well but they are not ready to implement it because they have a lot of money (in fossil resources) still in the ground. They will come back to hydrogen as soon as it seems advantageous. We need to make it seem advantageous soon, starting with incentives in the next energy bill.

The rest of the world is embracing fuel cell technology and rolling out fueling stations. US Secretary of Energy Stephen Chu does not want to fund hydrogen because he thinks hydrogen is still undeveloped. Who do you think has got hydrogen right, Stephen Chu or the rest of the world?
