Golf Links Road Improvement Project: Craycroft Road to Swan Road
Enter news release hereOn Monday, May 3, 2010, the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin a pavement improvement project on Golf Links Road, from Craycroft Road to Swan Road.
The work to improve the pavement condition on Golf Links Road will be done at night to minimize the impact on the traveling public. Crews from Sunland Asphalt, under contract with TDOT, will be removing (milling) the old asphalt on Golf Links Road and repaving the milled portion of roadway. During this work, there will be only one lane of travel in each direction on Golf Links Road. The schedule, which is subject to change, is as follows.
- Monday, May 3, 2010 – From 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., mill and repave the curb lane and center lane of westbound Golf Links Road from Craycroft Road to Swan Road.
- Tuesday, May 4, 2010 – From 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., mill and repave the curb lane and center lane of eastbound Golf Links Road from Swan Road to Craycroft Road
- Wednesday, May 5, 2010 – From 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., mill and repave the median lane of westbound Golf Links Road from Craycroft Road to Swan Road.
- Thursday, May 6, 2010 – From 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., mill and repave the median lane of eastbound Golf Links Road from Swan Road to Craycroft Road.
- Friday, May 7, 2010 – Beginning at 6 p.m., stripe travel lanes on both westbound and eastbound Golf Links Road from Craycroft Road to Swan Road.
Message boards have been placed in the vicinity of this project to advise motorist of this upcoming work. The traveling public can expect delays when driving or bicycling in this work area. For your safety, please observe all traffic control signage, message boards, and obey reduced speed limits. Watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work zone.
Please note that TDOT will be opening a bid package today, April 29, 2010, to award a contract to mill and repave Golf Links from Swan Road west to Alvernon Way. This work is scheduled to begin later this summer.
