LPG conversion kit for Tahoe hybrid available

At 21 mpg, the Chevy Tahoe hybrid offers better fuel economy than most large SUVs and you can make a bit greener with a new LPG upgrade.

Geiger Cars is now offering a liquified petroleum gas (LPG) conversion kit for GM’s Chevy Tahoe hybrid.

The new conversion kit costs $5,000, but offers Tahoe hybrid drivers the ability to cut in half the fueling costs of the 21 mpg SUV.

Still, as InsideLine points out, total vehicle costs including the conversion kit equal about $76,000.

Thus, if this is the future of the SUV, there probably isn’t much future left.
